You can open BlockCart on a Shopify development store and explore the app. To create or run rules, you need an active BlockCart subscription, even on a development store.
Works / Doesn't work without a subscription
| Works | Doesn't work | | ------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------- | | Open BlockCart and browse its pages. | Create or import checkout or payment rules. | | View rules already saved in the app. | Save edits, change rule status, duplicate, delete, or sync rules. | | Export saved rules. | Run rules in Test or Live in Shopify checkout. | | Open Billing and choose a plan. | Test a new rule in Shopify checkout before subscribing. |
If you already have saved rules, they stay in BlockCart when your subscription is inactive. BlockCart removes their checkout and payment changes from Shopify until you subscribe again.
Subscribe to test rules
Open Billing and choose a monthly or yearly plan. Shopify asks you to approve the subscription. On a development store, BlockCart requests a test charge, so you are not billed. Once Shopify reports the subscription as active, you can create, import, save, turn on, duplicate, delete, and sync rules.

For the subscription steps, see Plans and pricing: monthly vs yearly. When your plan is active, follow Test your rules safely before customers see them to check a rule in Shopify checkout.
