Change the order of shipping methods

Use ShipWith to reorder Shopify shipping methods at checkout. ShipWith changes the order of existing delivery methods; it does not create delivery methods or change their prices.

Choose an action

Under Actions, select the action that matches the order you want:

• Move delivery method to the top moves matching visible methods to the start of the list. In Delivery method titles, enter one or more titles to match.
• Move delivery method to the bottom moves matching visible methods to the end of the list. In Delivery method titles, enter one or more titles to match.
• Reorder a specific delivery method moves a matching visible method to a numbered place in the list. In Delivery method name or handle, enter the method to match. In Position, enter 1 for the first position, 2 for the second position, and so on. Position numbers start at 1.
• Sort delivery methods by cost high-low orders visible methods from highest to lowest cost. This action has no extra fields.
• Sort delivery methods by cost low-high orders visible methods from lowest to highest cost. This action has no extra fields.

Matches are case-insensitive and can match any part of a delivery method's title or handle. For example, express can match the title Express Shipping, and standard can match the handle standard-shipping.

Set up and save the rule

1. Open the shipping rule that you want to use.
2. Under Actions, select one of the ordering actions.
3. Complete the fields shown for the action. Cost sorting actions do not need any extra fields.
4. Set Status to Live when the rule is ready to affect checkout.
5. Select Save.
6. In Shopify sync, wait for Status to become Synced before testing.

If the sync status is Pending, Failed, or Not synced, the latest rule settings are not ready to test. If needed, select Retry sync, then wait for Synced.

How multiple actions and rules work

Actions in one rule run from top to bottom in the order shown. When several active rules use the same Function input, lower Priority numbers run first. Do not rely on priority to control rules that use different Function inputs, because Shopify does not guarantee their order.

The first move, reorder, or cost sort that locks a delivery method wins. Later ordering actions do not move that method again. An Ignore previous rules action clears earlier hide, rename, and ordering effects, unlocks the methods, and restores their original order. Actions and matching rules after that reset can then change them again.

Hidden delivery methods do not move or take part in cost sorting. Shopify evaluates each delivery group independently, so an action can produce a different order in each group based on the visible methods and their costs.

Shopify may prevent a higher-priced shipping option from being selected as the default ahead of the cheapest option. The default selection can therefore differ from the order you requested when a more expensive option appears before the cheapest one.

Test the order at checkout

1. Add products to the cart that should make the rule run.
2. Enter any customer or delivery details required by the rule's conditions.
3. Continue to the checkout step that shows delivery methods.
4. Check the order in every delivery group.
5. Repeat with a checkout that should not match and confirm that the rule does not change the order.

If the result is unexpected, confirm that the rule is Live, its sync status is Synced, its conditions match, and its title or handle targets match methods supplied by Shopify. Then check earlier actions and lower-priority rules for a move, reorder, cost sort, hide, or Ignore previous rules action that changes the same methods.
