Offer local pickup only for certain products

Shopify offers local pickup per location, not per product. If only some products can be collected in store, such as items stocked at the shop, use ShipWith to hide Local pickup whenever the cart contains a product that isn't eligible. Customers then see pickup only when every item in their cart can be picked up.

ShipWith hides delivery options that Shopify already supplies. It does not create a pickup option, so set up local pickup in Shopify first.

Start from a ready-made rule

Download local-pickup-only-for-certain-products.json and import it from the ShipWith Dashboard with Import. The rule uses Shipping input and hides Local pickup when the cart does not contain only products from a collection named Pickup eligible. It imports as Off.

The collection in the file is a placeholder. Until you replace it with your own collection, the rule hides local pickup for every cart. After importing:

1. Open the rule and select your real pickup-eligible collection in the condition.
2. Set Status to Live, select Save, and wait for Synced.

Create the rule

1. In Shopify, create a collection that holds every product customers may pick up, such as Pickup eligible.
2. In ShipWith, create a shipping rule and enter a Rule name, such as Local pickup only for eligible products.
3. Select Shipping input for Function input. The input cannot be changed after the rule is created. See Choose the right Function input type for your rule.
4. Under When the rule runs, select When set conditions are met.
5. In Conditions, select Cart does not contain, then only products from collection(s), and choose your pickup-eligible collection. This matches when at least one cart item is outside that collection.
6. Under Actions, select Hide delivery method(s) of type, then choose Local pickup.
7. Set Status to Live, select Save, and wait for Shopify sync to show Synced.

Test the rule at checkout

1. Add only pickup-eligible products to the cart. Confirm that local pickup is offered.
2. Add one product that is not in the collection. Confirm that local pickup disappears and shipping options remain.
3. Remove the ineligible product and confirm that local pickup returns.

If local pickup never appears, check that the condition uses your real collection rather than the imported placeholder, and that local pickup is enabled for the location in Shopify.
