Activate, pause, or delete a shipping rule

You can manage ShipWith shipping rules without deleting them. Set a rule's Status to Live when you want it to run at Shopify checkout, Test when you want to try it without affecting customers, or Off when you want to pause it.

Activate a rule

1. Open the shipping rule you want to activate.
2. In Status, select Live.
3. Select Save.

ShipWith saves the change and synchronizes the store's Live and Test rules with Shopify. The rule can then run at checkout when its conditions match.

Test a rule first

Select Test instead of Live to run the rule only for logged-in customers tagged shipwith-test. See Test your shipping rules at checkout.

Pause a rule

1. Open the shipping rule you want to pause.
2. In Status, select Off.
3. Select Save.

A rule that is Off stays in ShipWith with its settings intact, but it is left out when ShipWith synchronizes rules with Shopify. You can edit the rule or activate it again later.

Pausing is different from deleting: pausing preserves the rule, while deleting removes it from ShipWith.

Delete a rule

Use deletion only when you no longer need the stored rule:

1. Open the shipping rule you want to delete.
2. Select Delete.
3. Review the confirmation, then select Delete.

The confirmation warns that deletion cannot be undone. When you confirm, ShipWith removes the stored rule first, then synchronizes the remaining active rules with Shopify.

How synchronization works

Saving a rule, changing its status and saving, or deleting it starts synchronization. ShipWith synchronizes only active rules. If no active rules remain for a Function input type, ShipWith removes that input type's delivery customization from Shopify.

How priority affects active rules

Lower Priority numbers run first, but only among active rules that use the same Function input type. For example, a priority 1 Standard input rule runs before a priority 2 Standard input rule.

Do not rely on priority to control the order of rules that use different Function input types. Shopify does not guarantee their order across input types.
