Hide specific shipping methods at checkout

Use a ShipWith rule to hide a Shopify shipping method when it is available at checkout. You can target one or more selected delivery options supplied by Shopify. ShipWith does not create rates, change prices, or offer shipping discounts.

Create the rule

1. Create a shipping rule, or open the rule that you want to edit.
2. Under When the rule runs, choose whether the rule should run Always or only When set conditions are met.
3. If you chose When set conditions are met, add the conditions that should control the rule. Conditions within one group must all match. If you create multiple groups, matching any one group is enough.
4. Under Actions, select Hide specific delivery method(s).
5. In Delivery method titles, enter a value and press Enter. Repeat this step for every delivery method that you want to hide.
6. Set Status to Live.
7. Select Save.

ShipWith requires at least one value in Delivery method titles. Each value matches any part of a delivery option's title or handle, without regard to capitalization. For example, express can match a title such as “Express Shipping” or a handle that contains express. If any entered value matches, that option is hidden when the rule's conditions also allow the action to apply.

After saving, find Shopify sync and confirm that Status is Synced before testing. If the status is Pending, wait and check again. If it is Failed or Not synced, select Retry sync and wait for Synced.

Test the rule at checkout

Test both a matching and a non-matching checkout:

1. Add products and enter customer or destination details that meet the rule's conditions.
2. Continue to the checkout step that shows delivery options. Confirm that options matching Delivery method titles are hidden and other usable options remain available.
3. Change one relevant detail so the checkout no longer meets the conditions, such as the product, quantity, cart value, customer, or delivery address.
4. Return to the delivery-options step and confirm that the rule no longer hides the targeted options.

Shopify can divide a cart into multiple delivery groups. A delivery group is a set of cart lines for one destination with its own delivery options. ShipWith evaluates each delivery group independently, so a matching option can be hidden in one group while options in another group remain unchanged. Check every delivery group in both tests.

Hide specific methods or hide all methods

Hide specific delivery method(s) hides only options whose title or handle contains one of your entered values. Other options remain visible.

Hide all delivery methods does not use Delivery method titles. When its rule and conditions apply, it hides every delivery option that the action can affect.

Check your targets and conditions carefully. If a rule hides every usable option in a delivery group, checkout can be left without a shipping choice. Leave at least one usable option unless hiding every option is intentional.
