Use cart conditions to set Shopify quantity rules or check an order's value and currency. Choose the field that matches what you want the rule to measure.
| Condition | What it checks | Example | | -------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- | | Cart subtotal | The cart value before taxes and order-level discounts. | Stop an order when the subtotal is less than 50. | | Cart total | The amount the customer pays. It can include taxes and shipping once Shopify knows them. | Stop an order when the total is less than 50. | | Cart items total quantity | The sum of quantities across all cart lines. | Stop an order when the cart contains more than 10 items in total. | | Cart items quantity per line | The quantity on each cart line. The condition matches if any line meets the comparison. | Stop an order when one line has more than 5 items. | | Cart currency | The current cart currency. | Match when the currency is USD. |

Subtotal or total?
Use Cart subtotal when your rule is about the subtotal, such as a Shopify minimum order amount. Use Cart total when the final amount the customer pays is what matters. Discounts, taxes and shipping can make the total differ from the subtotal, and the total can change as the customer fills in checkout. For a minimum order, Cart subtotal is usually the steadier choice.
Total quantity or quantity per line?
Cart items total quantity adds the quantities of all cart lines. A cart with two lines of three items each has a total quantity of six. Cart items quantity per line checks each line separately; one matching line is enough for the condition to match. Use it for a per-line quantity cap.
Selling in more than one currency
Amount conditions compare the number in the customer's checkout currency. BlockCart does not convert it. If your store sells in USD and EUR, Cart subtotal is less than 50 means 50 USD for one customer and 50 EUR for another.
To set a different amount per currency, use one group per currency. Put Cart currency is USD and Cart subtotal is less than 50 in one group, and Cart currency is EUR and Cart subtotal is less than 45 in another. See Combine conditions with AND and OR groups.
Currency codes and rule inputs
Enter a currency code such as USD for Cart currency. The is operator checks for an exact currency code; letter case does not matter. Cart currency is available with Standard input and Shipping input. The four amount and quantity fields are available with Standard input, Shipping input, Attribute input, and Customer input.
Amount and quantity fields offer is greater than, is greater than or equal to, is less than, and is equal to. Choose is less than to match carts below a minimum, or is greater than to match carts above a limit. A checkout rule shows your error when its conditions match.
