You can set a Shopify B2B minimum order quantity or order value with a checkout rule that applies only to company purchases. This example stops a B2B buyer when the cart subtotal is below your minimum.
Before you start
You need Shopify B2B company purchases and an active BlockCart subscription to save the rule. Choose your minimum for each checkout currency you accept. The example below uses 100 for a $100 minimum.
Set a B2B order minimum
- On the BlockCart home page, select Create new rule. In the dialog, choose Cart and checkout validation.
- Enter a Rule name, such as “B2B $100 minimum.” Leave Rule input as Standard input.
- Under Eligibility, choose Only when conditions match. In the first condition group, select Customer is a company, set the operator to is, and leave the value as
true. - Select Add condition (AND) in the same group. Choose Cart subtotal, set the operator to is less than, and enter 100.
- Under Display, write an Error message, such as “Add items to reach the $100 B2B order minimum.”
- Set Status to Live, then Save. Check the saved rule's Shopify sync status. Test a B2B purchase below the minimum and a purchase without a B2B company.

Example
| Rule input | Conditions | Error message | | -------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------- | | Standard input | Customer is a company is true AND Cart subtotal is less than 100 | Add items to reach the $100 B2B order minimum. |
Good to know
- Both conditions must match. A purchase without a B2B purchasing company will not be blocked by this rule. This works for a Shopify B2B wholesale minimum, regardless of which company is buying. To target specific companies or locations, see B2B conditions: company, company location, "customer is a company".
- If you run wholesale with customer tags instead of Shopify B2B companies, use Customer tag has any of
Wholesalein place of Customer is a company. Guests never match a tag condition, so they won't be blocked by this version. - Cart subtotal is before taxes and order-level discounts. Cart total can include taxes and shipping. Subtotal is usually the better basis for a minimum order value.
- BlockCart compares 100 with the number in the customer's checkout currency; it does not convert currencies. For multiple currencies, use one group per currency. In each group, include Customer is a company, Cart currency, and that currency's subtotal minimum. See Cart conditions: subtotal, total, quantity, currency.
- For a quantity minimum instead, replace Cart subtotal with Cart items total quantity and use is less than. This counts all items in the cart. See Set a minimum order quantity (MOQ).
- Rule input is locked after you create the rule.
