Sync sends checkout and payment rules in Test or Live to Shopify checkout. Check each rule's status and retry a failed sync.
What does each sync status mean?
On the BlockCart home page, find your checkout rule in Rules and read its Sync column.
| Status | What it means | | -------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Not synced | The rule has no current sync with Shopify. This is expected for a rule that is Off. | | Pending | BlockCart has started a sync attempt and has not recorded its result yet. | | Synced | BlockCart successfully sent the rule to Shopify. | | Failed | BlockCart could not complete a sync attempt. The rule may not reflect its saved state in Shopify yet. |
Status shows whether the saved rule is Off, in Test, or Live. Sync shows whether BlockCart applied it in Shopify.

Retry a failed sync
You need an active subscription to retry.
- On the home page, find the checkout rule in Rules and open it with its edit button.
- In Shopify sync, read the error message. Last synced shows the last successful sync, which can predate the failure.
- Select Retry sync. BlockCart tries to apply the saved rule to Shopify again.
- Check Status. If it still says Failed, address the error and retry.

Good to know
Retry sync uses the last saved version. Select Save first if you changed fields. Retrying a rule that is Off removes it from Shopify checkout and leaves it saved as Not synced. See Activate or deactivate a rule.
Payment rules
Payment rules also show status in the Sync column of Rules. Synced means a Shopify payment customization is linked. Failed means the latest sync failed. Not synced means none is linked. Payment rows do not show Pending.
To retry, select the row's Sync action. A failure shows Payment rules were not synced and an error. Payment rules in Test or Live with the same Rule input share one Shopify payment customization. A failure can affect every rule that is on for that input.

Common reasons a sync fails
Check the error message first, then work through these causes:
- Unsupported condition. A checkout rule can fail if a condition does not work with its Rule input. Review the conditions, then save again.
- Too many values or rules. Payment rule lists and combined rule size have limits. Reduce values or turn off rules using that Rule input, then select Sync.
- Payment rules using different Rule inputs conflict. BlockCart can stop a sync when their actions would clash. See Fix payment rule conflicts between profiles.
- Your subscription is no longer active. Sync actions require an active subscription. See Plans and pricing: monthly vs yearly.
- Shopify rejected the request or it failed. Try syncing again.
If your subscription ends, BlockCart removes rules from Shopify checkout but keeps them saved. It tries to sync rules in Test or Live after you subscribe. See What happens to your rules when you cancel or billing stops.
If it still fails, contact support from the home page. See Contact support.
